Overlooking the coast, Patching Lodge is an extra care complex of retirement apartments managed by Hanover, which includes a shared garden. Working closely with Brighton and Hove City Council, Bramber were appointed by Hanover to help improve the residents access to the sites gardens.
Once a design was agreed and before any landscaping works could start, we had to carefully demolish an existing building, taking care to protect the safety of the elderly residents.
The new works included new accessible ramps, footpaths, as well as bespoke handrails and gate. We also built brickwork feature retaining walls and completed the project with landscaping and feature external lighting. The end result is a beautiful landscaped garden that is now enjoyed by all the residents.
